Apart from heritage Delhi has gained formidable popularity for its cuisine hence we have ensured that we include some of the most famous eateries along the way in our itinerary as well. While Delhi has a fair share of transport facilities, following an itinerary while travelling in busses and auto’s could be difficult. But don’t you worry the seamless availability of car rentals in Delhi would help you in following the itinerary.
We would start our day from Chandini Chowk with breakfast. Chandini Chowk is only about 2.2 km from the old Delhi Indian railway station and is further in the close vicinity of three Metro stations: Chandini Chowk Metro Station, Jama Masjid Metro Station, and Chawri Bazaar Metro Station. So even if your hotel or Airbnb is somewhere far off, you can easily commute through the metro or your Self-drive rental to reach Chandini Chowk.
Chandini Chowk- 10:00 am-12:00 Am
We would start our day with a savoury breakfast at some of the finest establishments in Chandini Chowk, such as the Shyam Sweets in Manohar Market, Kedarnath Premchand Halwai, and if you are a non-vegetarian, then you should not miss out on the nihari at all nihari point and the famous chole kulche from Lotan. Once done with the breakfast you can either catch a rickshaw or walk to RedFort for a Visit.
Red Fort
Once in Red Fort you can buy a ticket to go through the in-house museum or walk around in the interiors to witness the magnificence of Mughal architecture. The Museum timings are from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Walking along the museum as well as the interiors of the Redfort would take some time so around 1:00 or 2:00 you can exit and head towards the next monument which is Jama masjid.
Jama Masjid
Being nearby Redfort you can either take a rickshaw or a walk to the main gate of Jama Masjid. Witness the grandeur of the architecture, the enormous entrance of the masjid is sure to entice you to its interiors. Since it’s a place of worship make sure that you enter barefoot and be respectful towards the traditions of the monument. We would advise that you park your Self-drive rental car in the parking while visiting all these places that are nearby each other, and then when you are done with Jama masjid by 3:00 to 4:00 pm, you can take your car out to drive to our next locations.
Connaught Place
This life-size creation of Lutyen is one of the most renowned places in Delhi and one of the best places to spend your evenings. You can explore the underground Palika Bazaar or shop at some of the most renowned brands available here. Further, there is no shortage of good eateries in Connaught Place any cuisine and any brand you seek you can find it all here with great ease. Further, once you are done exploring the Connaught Place Market, you can head over to the next location on our list.
India Gate
After only a drive of about 5 km, you can reach India Gate, enjoy a nice stroll in the evening hours and end the day on a relaxing note. If you still have some room left, you can easily try some snacks from the countless vendors that flock to the place. Once you are done with your evening saunter you can easily drive back to your hotel in your Self-Drive Car Rental in Delhi.
This could be one of the best itineraries for anyone who is planning to explore the monuments of Delhi and want to visit as many renowned places in Delhi as possible in one day. Car Rentals in Delhi would certainly be able to help you in this pursuit and support you while travelling.
